Spinal Subdural Hematoma With Paraplegia Mimicking Dorsolumbar Prolapsed Disc: A Case Report

Background and Importance: Spinal Subdural Hematoma (SSH) is a rare condition with an unknown incidence in the general population. Iatrogenic spinal subdural hematoma radiologically mimicking prolapsed dorsolumbar disc has not been published literature. Case Presentation: A 65-year-old female presented altered sensorium generalized weakness for 3 days evaluated by neurologist who diagnosed it as metabolic encephalopathy Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone secretion (SIADH) severe anemia hypothyroidism. She underwent diagnostic lumbar puncture following which, within 24 hours, she developed both lower limbs. MRI spine was done which revealed D12-L1 extruded causing compression to conus medullaris D12-L2 subarachnoid lesion cord edema. On opening dura, large organized on anterior aspect seen evacuated. Conclusion: presents spectrum signs symptoms. Although investigation choice but SSH presenting like intervertebral one its kinds should be kept mind since carries grave prognosis if treated early emergency decompression.
